For most HMO plans, members are required to select a Primary Care Physician (PCP) who participates in the network. The PCP provides primary care along with coordinating overall care. The network includes the following Colorado counties: Adams, Arapahoe, Broomfield, Boulder, Denver, Douglas, Elbert, El Paso, Fremont, Jefferson, Larimer, Mesa, Pueblo, Teller, and Weld. Additional physicians may be added on a periodic basis. Members who are outside their Aetna HMO service area are still covered under an emergency or for urgently needed care. These conditions include vomiting, earaches, sore throats, or fevers. Urgent care can be obtained from a private practice physician, a walk-in clinic, an urgent care center, or an emergency facility.

As a member of Aetna of Colorado you are responsible for any copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles for covered services which are listed in your benefits summary and plan documents. Your plan sponsor will determine your plan of benefits. Covered services include most type of treatments provided by primary care physicians, specialists, and hospitals. The health plan, however, does exclude/limit some covered services such as cosmetic surgery and experimental procedures.
