The Celtic Basic Plan is an affordable health insurance plan available in Florida.  It offers high deductible options which are usually partnered with low premiums.  The ideal candidates for high deductible option plans are young and healthy individuals where emergency medical care is a very rare case.  The Celtic Basic Plan also offers Preferred Provider Organization options with 80/20% coinsurance and $1,500 to $5,000 deductible choices.  Effective as of March 1, 2010, Celtic is now offering 70/30% coinsurance level with deductibles ranging from $1,500 to $7,500.  There is a prescription drug option and a $200 wellness benefit.

Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plans are different from Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) plans in that it offers members the freedom of choosing primary care physicians, specialists and hospitals out of the carrier’s network at a higher copayment.    The CeltiCare Preferred Health Plan includes prescription drug coverage without a deductible and there is a $20 copayment for generic drugs.  There are also coinsurance options of 100/0% and 80/20% where the member pays the bottom number.  There are also accidental options and life insurance options in certain states that members can add on to their plan.
