It’s after January 1st but new HSA customers can still reap full year tax benefits!

Promote HSAs all year long! Now new account holders are not limited to 1/12 of the annual limit for each month that they have a qualifiying plan. Regardless of when your customers open their accounts during the year, they will be able to contribute up to the full annual limit.*

Account holders may contribute more

Contributions are no longer limited by the deductible selected. Account holders can contribute up to $2,850 for single coverage and $5,650 for family coverage in 2007.

Account holders can make an IRA transfer to an HSA

An HSA account holder can make a one-time distribution from an IRA (Individual Retirement Account) to an HSA, so funds are immediately available to meet health needs.

New Account holders can transfer funds from an FSA or HRA

Employees now have the ability to start an HSA by making a one-time tax-free transfer of FSA (Flexible Spending Account) and HRA (Health Reimbursement Arrangement) funds.

Employers can make a high deductible plan more attractive to lower-paid employees

An employer may now make higher HSA contributions for non-highly compensated employees which could reduce the impact of a higher deductible.
