I agree, more must be done to promote a healthier lifestyle. Though I am glad many restaurants are now forced to add nutritional values to their menus, many people still ignore them. Did you know a big mac has over 500 calories with 29g of fat!?!?

So many people commit insurance fraud. How these companies ever know for sure. It’s so out of hand just like everything else in this country……..welfare, lawsuits. Everybody thinks they “deserve” something.

BPA should absolutely be banned. It’s a dangerous chemical that has been shown to leech into the food/liquids in these containers and accumulate in the human body. Children are especially susceptible to the negative effects because it can impair their development. When you heat or freeze a liquid in these plastic containers or run them through the dishwasher, the rate of chemical transfer into the food increases. Just think of the number of times a day you heat milk in those baby bottles or heat them to sanitize them!

I do not think it is necessarily the “duty” of the more wealthy countries to help the poorer countries with regards to this virus. The USA has enough issues to deal with then to worry about just a flu that has not affected its own country. I mean the USA has taken the proper precautions within its own borders , does it really need to make sure everyone else does the same?

The variance in cost of care is driven by two critical factors. First, what treatment is being provided for a given diagnosis and second, what is the cost of the treatment. It is fair to assume that people in Miami are receiving more “treatments” or are paying more. Unfortunately, there is no measure that relates this behavior to better care.

It’s kind of cool how technology can be used to help improve our responsiveness to global health crises. I can see the point though that this would be a troubling interference in people’s lives if the government can always see where you are… creepy.

This is a really good idea! I feel bad for the families and parents who have to deal with paying for medical bills that were unforseen since they didn’t know their babies would have illnesses. Kids are our future and they should be given every opportunity to be healthy!

Finally! As an “older” woman, I had to pay for my own vaccination which cost about $700 bucks. Of course NOW it’s covered. But it was dumb when the FDA said it would only cover women up to the age of 26. SHEESH!!

Alzheimers is such a sad disease. I used to work with patients who had it and they suffered such an awful existence. More research needs to be done on it and more tests have to come out to help these people, because we may be among them soon. This is a good first step!

Tell me about it Ben. I already wait in doctors lines long enough as it is when I’m actually sick. If people just pay one fee, then people who are actually sick will be waiting in line behind people with little colds and splinters….doesn’t make much sense

i like this idea! I’m 21 and I dread the day I have to start looking for and paying for my own health insurance. Given how kids are getting married when they’re older now this makes a lot of sense.

Okay, I do think vaccines are a good idea, and this one is impressive, but my doctor just tried to convince my mom that my 12 year old sister should get the vaccine. I mean, come on! We find one thing that works and then just push it on the entire population? I think we need to be careful about the specific population we are targeting with the HPV vaccine.
