Medica health plans are available to 98 percent of Minnesotans and in a growing number of adjoining counties in Wisconsin, North Dakota and South Dakota. They have a wide variety of health plans including Medica Direct HSA for Individuals, Medica Direct Value, and Medica Encore.

The Medica Direct HSA is a high deductible health plan that lets you save money in a tax-preferred optional health savings account (HSA). These funds help pay for deductibles and other qualified out-of-pocket medical costs. You pay lower monthly premiums and receive tax advantages, while getting prescription benefits, preventive care and major medical coverage. Deductibles range from $1,400 to $3,500 for individuals and $2,800 to $7,000 for families. Coinsurance options include 80% and 100%.

Medica Direct Value is a traditional plan with a wide array of deductible options ranging from $150 to $5,000 for individuals, and up to 3x more for families. With this plan, you get the advantage of Medica’s largest open access network of nearly 27,000 providers of all types at more than 4,000 offices, clinics, and hospitals. Deductibles range from $150 to $5,000 with most benefits paid at 80%.

Medica Encore is available on a self-only basis. This plan is designed for those 50-64 but it is available to those 3 months to age 64.  It is a high-deductible health plans that offers immediate coverage for preventive care. Deductibles range from $4,000 to $9,000 with 100% coverage after the deductible is met.
